Tokyo - Japan: IWA Congress from 16 to 21 September 2018 in Tokyo - Japan

AfWA takes part in the next International Water Association Congress scheduled from 16 to 21 September 2018 in Tokyo – Japan, on the theme "Let’s Trace the Paths of the Future of the Water Sector." AfWA members take the floor at conferences as panellists and keynotes speakers. In addition, AfWA participate in the international exhibition in the African pavilion, alongside some of its members such as ONEE (Morocco), SODECI (Cote d’Ivoire), NWSC (Uganda), LWB (Malawi), SDE (Senegal), and EPAL (Angola). It’s an opportunity for these exhibitors to showcase what Africa does best, share African expertise, and also learn from others.

The IWA Congress is also an opportunity for the Executive Director to review cooperation lines between IWA and AfWA in Africa.

Libreville - Gabon: African Water Week from 29 October to 2 November, 2018

The theme of the 7th African Water Week, which will take place from 29 October to 2 November in Libreville, Gabon, is "Toward Achieving Water Security and Safely Managed Sanitation for Africa." AfWA is actively preparing to participate in the water week, particularly in facilitating sub-theme 2 on "Choices, Approaches and Actions for Safely Managed Sanitation in Africa by 2030 in the Face of Climate Change."

The African Water Week is organized by the African Ministers’ Council on Water. It represents a political commitment at the highest level where governments, regional institutions, international partners, the private sector, scientists, the civil society and the international media, particularly those from Africa, meet to discuss and, together, seek solutions to Africa's water and sanitation problems.

Djibouti - Djibouti: 80th Meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council of AfWA from 19 to 23 November 2018

The 80th meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council (CST) and Exhibition of the African Water Association will take place from 12 to 19 November 2018 in Djibouti. AfWA invites its partners, affiliates, active and individual members, government representatives and African municipalities, as well as companies involved in the water, sanitation and environment sector, to save the date in order to participate in this meeting that will be an opportunity discuss the strategic priorities of the water sector in Africa and showcase their products and services by participating in the exhibition.
