Preparations Of The World Water Day: AfWA and the Côte d’Ivoire Ministry of water and forests consult each other

On Tuesday, March 8, 2016, AfWA Executive Director, Mr. Sylvain Usher welcomed a delegation from the Ministry of Water and Forests of Côte d’Ivoire within the framework of the preparations of the 2016 World Water Day celebrated every March 22nd, and which will be coupled, this year with the 2nd edition of the Côte d’Ivoire National Water Week scheduled from March 22nd to 24th 2016.

Prof KOUAME K. Fernand, (Director); Mr. KRAIDI Jacques, (Deputy-Manager); Mr. ZOKO Baoué S., (Department Head) representing the Department in charge of the Management and Preservation of Water Resources expressed the desire of the Ministry to include AfWA in the organization of these two great events that will be jointly celebrated through sensitizing activities, conferences, participation in panels and field visits.

The theme of this year’s World Water Day is about the problems of Water and Employment. At the local level, the theme of this celebration will be: “Côte d’Ivoire, an emerging Country by 2020: which contributions of the water related sector to the creation of job and richness?

The Executive Director expressed his happiness for this mark of consideration, and ensured that AfWA will do its utmost so that all the members and partners of the Association get involved in the organization and the success of this event.

This meeting is the first one of several others to come for a total success of the JME 2016 (2016 WWD) and SNE-CI 2016 (2016 National Water Week – Côte d’Ivoire).
